Who We Are
Meet the Managing Principal
A believer in Indigenous excellence and the importance of creating space to uplift it, Nicole Johnny has dedicated her career to transforming economic systems for the benefit of Native communities. A proud member of the Navajo Nation, Nicole is Kiyaa’áanii born for Tsi’naajinii. Her maternal grandfather is Tábaahí and her paternal grandfather is Naashaashi Dine’é.
Nicole holds an MBA in Finance from Pepperdine University and a bachelor’s degree in Finance and Economics. Her professional journey includes roles in investment banking with RBC Capital Markets, tribal portfolio management, tribal land valuation from both federal and tribal perspectives, and commercial real estate development.
Nicole carries experience in impact investing where she helps facilitate the flow of capital into Indigenous businesses. Her service extends to board roles with Diné Development Corporation, Changing Woman Initiative, WESST, and Miss Indian New Mexico, Inc.
Rooted in her Navajo heritage and living in Albuquerque, NM on Tiwa land, Nicole brings a culturally grounded, financially sophisticated, and community-focused perspective to every engagement. Through Confluence Advisory, she continues her mission to support Tribes in launching businesses that are resilient, visionary, and sovereign.
